About CVTidy

CVTidy helps job seekers write CVs that hiring software can read and recruiters want to read. It's free to use, made in Dublin, and built for job seekers wherever they apply, with extra detail for Ireland and the UK.

Who we are

CVTidy is a small, independent project based in Dublin. We build and maintain the tools, write and update the CV examples, and do the paid CV reviews ourselves, by hand. We're not owned by a recruitment agency or a job board, and we don't sell your data.

Why CVTidy exists

Most employers now collect applications through an applicant tracking system, which turns each CV into plain text before anyone reads it. Many popular CV templates use two columns, text boxes, icons and skill bars that look good but can scramble or hide that text.

CVTidy takes the opposite approach: one column, standard headings, real text and simple formatting. Our templates are tested automatically, as both PDF and Word, to make sure the text comes out complete and in the right order when software reads it.

How we write our CV examples

We have examples for 149 jobs, from doctors and nurses to commissioning engineers and data centre technicians. Here is how they're made:

The examples are a starting point, not legal or professional advice. Always check registration requirements and job details with the employer or the relevant regulator.

Your privacy

The CV Builder and ATS Check run in your browser, so the CV you type or upload is never sent to our servers. If you order a CV review, we use your CV only for that review and delete it 30 days after delivery. Details are on our privacy page.

How CVTidy is funded

The tools are free. We earn from optional paid CV reviews and from ads on some content pages. Ads never appear inside the CV Builder or the ATS Check.
